****Warning Disturbing content****

After all the men ran away the 112 police personnel took the woman to the hospital on a handcart.

Just after the video gone viral, the SP of Balrampur, Devranjan Verma came in action and immediately suspended the two police officers who were present of the time of incident. He said, “Police took the cognizance and after probing the matter. Victim’s husband, brothers in law and three son of her brother in law came together and beaten up the woman.”

This is a slap and a blot on the trust of citizens for the police. Almost every week some miss happenings occur in the presence or in the knowledge of police. Police stay meek and stand still till the matter goes viral. Recently an incident of women molestation in the name of “Superstition” came up from Muzaffarabad, Bihar. When three women were brutally thrashed, were made to drink human waste and their head were shaved forcibly by the village thinking that they are witches. The whole village supported the act and the women were also made to bring back a dead infant.

As the readers might expect the police didn’t intervene and registered the case when the victims approached them. The case was registered by the police when the video of the incident gone viral.

These incidents make clear that police has gone rouge towards the citizens. People of this country cannot trust their own police and law makers. Even at times when the police is the only hope for survival. India has been losing its hope and trust continuously from police and law makers. When JNU students were thrashed from batons, when CAA peace protestors were killed in front of the police, when poor’s vegetable handcarts were kicked at the time of coronavirus.

All these incidents are gruesome. All these incidents make us believe that we all are still living in the British age, when everything was censored and stern. It is a well-known fact that in foreign developed countries when a citizen sees a cop they are frightened by them but in India when it’s citizen sees a cop we instinctively are frightened by them and the fun fact is we do not know how and why!

India does not necessarily want a police friendly behaviour but India does want an unfriendly behavior. India will definitely extol our police when they go neutral for all, no advantages for the rich and powerful, no disadvantages for the poor.

We also praise a handful of valorous police who take a stand for the veritable truth. This article is not to say that police is bad and we deserve better but it raises a question on our system of lawmakers.

WHY, WHENCE and For HOW LONG?

India deserves an answer, just not to satisfy the question or a human heart but to stop that thing which makes us take an advantage of that poor, which makes us to make fun of that poor, which makes us rape that poor, which make us just not human but everything else.
