Class 10 Dalit Boy Forced To Lick Feet In Rai Bareli, UP
The incident’s video went viral on Monday. The main accused is a minor. All the seven accused were arrested.
Rai Bareli, UP: In a barbarous act seven persons were arrested for forcing a class 10th Dalit student to lick their feet to show respect to them.
The incident was caught in a video which later went viral on social media on Monday. The district police have taken a suo-moto of the incident and have acted by setting up five teams to trace the victim and assaulters.
The Superintendent of Police of Rai Bareli, Shlok Kumar has said that the main accused in the case is a minor and has been sent to the juvenile home, while the other six adults were identified Abhishek, Vikas Pasi, Mahendra Kumar, Hrithik Singh, Aman Singh and Yash Pratap and have been arrested.
According to the SP, the incident occurred because the class-10 Dalit boy refused to obey his seniors’ orders and didn’t bow down to the extortion call, who were pass outs of the same school.
A similar incident was reported from Barabanki, where a 13-year old girl was brutally thrashed on the alleged charges of theft in a grocery store. A shopkeeper tied her hands and feet and beaten her badly. The teen kept pleading for mercy but the domineering shopkeeper didn’t stop.
In the viral video the crowd is visible but no one respond and people kept recording. The local police have arrested the shopkeeper and have registered a case against him. The girl was rescued by the police and was handed over to her family.
